Mr A. Hon'obin informs us that letting out boats on the Papaitonga Lake during the holidays resulted in taking.-, amounting to £1 6s, which will ho handed over to those collecting for the Belgian Relief Fund. Mr Horrobin w ill continue to hire out boats on the lake, the proceeds to be devoted to the same fumd. Scholarships have been, awarded b.y the Wellington Education Board' to I. V. Pink, J. M. Smith and C. M. MeIntyre, of Lovin. At the meeting of the Wellington Education Board on Tuesday morning the following pupil teachers and probationers were appointed :—Pupilteachers Arnold G. D. Cork and Marjorie Malcolm ; probationer, Asiyadee Winge; transfer. Miss Jessie Payne to Masterton. The Victorian cricket team defeated New South AVales by 10' runs in the match concluded at Sydney yesterday Mr .N. Kirkcaldie's pony "Lady Xoggs" was sold after the judging at the show yesterday. The price realised was £35. This amount will be handed to the Trentham Camp Free Library Fund by Mr Kirkcaldie. Mr \V. Simpson was auctioneer. In the report of the wedding, Wilson,—Price, which appeared in yesterday's Chronicle, it was erroneously rojMM'ted that the bride wore a veil. Miss Price wore a white hat with lancer plumes.
