- vv —*- — The first soldier's wedding in Levin since tho beginning of the war was solemnised on Monday afternoon in St. Mary's Church of England, Leslie B. Wilson, third son of Mr and Mrs A. F. Wilson, Bristol-street, Levin, and May Price, only daughter of Mi- aniu Mrs W. G. Prico, Cambridge-street, Levin, were .united iti tho holy bonds of matrimony by tbe vicar., the Rov. H. T. Jritealey..--- T4ve church-was finely deooratedy and suspended above tho bridal party was a floral wedding frell riiade of red, wliite and blue flowers. The bride was given' away by her father and \yoro the orthodox veil, aii<t a eh&rinii.g dress of champagne coloured whipcord cloth. She carried a nice bouquet of cactus dahlias, "roses, and asparagus fern, the gift of Mrs Prouso. Tho bridesmaid was Miss Lizzie Dynan, of Levin. .She wore a pretty costume t>f wedj^ewood , blue wepoline and oarlied a''bouquet of red, white and blue flowers. Mr H. G. Pnco attended the bridegroom as best man. ' The wet Wing inarch was played by Mrs iStealey. After tho ceremony tho party adjourned to "Williams's tea-rooms whore a- splendid wedding breakfast was set out. The Rev. Mr Stealoy proposed the health of the brido and bridegroom referring to tho fact that tho latter had joined and' would be leaving Now Zealand! shortly with the Expeditionary Forco. Tho bridegroom replied briefly. Mr W. Harding proposed the health of the bridesmaid and Mr H\ G. Prico responded. Mr N. Hoklaway proposed ; the health of the parents, remarking that he had l known the bridegroom's parents for many years. Tho parents suitably responded. Mr T. Brown proposed the health of Rev. Mr Stealey, and drew attention to tho fact that this was the first khaki wedding in Levin, though tho bridegroom was not hi uniform. He was glad that Ror. Mr Steal ey • had performed the ceremony as he was chaplain of the \Spcal units of the defence forces. Mr Htealey replied.
Among the Jiiniinereus presents received was a fine complete dinner service given by Mr Holdaway and staff. The present to the bridesmaid was a gold cross and chain. In the evening Mi and Mrs Wilson left by motor oar for Feiklinpr. Mr Huldiiway kindly lent the car. The wedding cake, made by Mr Williams, was a splendid one, and was decorated with red, white and blue ininiatnro flags.
