CASE AGAINST NEWSPAPER DISMISSED.

Perth, Tliis Day. The charge against the Daily News of publishing information indirectly useful to the enemy was dismissed. The matter complained of was a description of the Suez Canal defences. It now transpires that the same news was published in Melbourne without restrictions. The Magistrate in dismissing the case said it was foolish to suppose such information would be useful to the enemy who could 1 send an agent and report direct.
