The attendance is very large, and the course >s in splendid condition. Following are the results:— Wallace Welter.— Rerehan 1, Gem 1, Bonny Rigg 3. Scratched: Banksia, tSubniaraion, Killalas. The first horse bo break away was Bonny Rigg, followed by Ririhau, with Jem last. In the .straight Bonny Rigg fell back and Jem strongly challenged Rerohan, hut was tumble to gef up. Rerelian won by half a length, the same distance separating second and third l horses. Melrose Welter Handicap Banksia 1, Briar Patch 2, Crown Pearl 8. Scratched: Stepney. From a good start Crown Pearl went to the front, followed by Banksia. Coining into the straight the field was well bunched, but Banksia drew away and won by a' length from Briar Patch. There were two lengths between second and third horses. Time, lmin 29seos. Hopeful Stakes Handicap.—Taringamutu 1, Dribble 2, Harlequin 3. Scratched : Happiness. . A great finish, Taringamutu just. getting uip in time. Half a length between second and third horses. Time, 3min B|secs.
