[By our Resident Representative.] The County Council's road grader was at work in the township on Friday ) doing the much-nceded work of improving Stout-street. It is the intention to go over all the streets. It is to be hoped that the residents of Shannon will not lose sight of the question of the desirability of the Tokomaru riding being amalgamated with the iiairanga County for hospital purpose®. The great inconvenience of having to send all the cases requiring kospital care to Wellington is becoming more and more pressing. Tho long-standing dispute between the Ilorowhenua County and the Manawatu County in reference "to the maintenance of the Foxton roadt has been settled at Last. The Horowhenua County agreed to pay the Manawatu County £35 a year.
