We invite your assistance irrespective of class or creed. It is to be known as " THE SALVATION ARMY NEW YEAR WAR RELIEF AND EMERGENCY FUND." AIJ monies collected will be forwarded direct to General Booth, London. The Salvation Army is HOUSING HOMELESS AND FRIENDLESS BELGIANS, SUSTAINING LIFE IN HUMANITY'S UNDERWORLD, CARING FOR OUR SOLDIERS IN THE MILITARY CAMPS, AND HAS ITS RELIEF PARTY AT THE SEAT OF WAR. In addition to all this, a practical expression of sympathy for the dying and wounded has been given by the donation of FIVE SPECIALLY BUILT AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED AMBULANCE MOTORS, MANNED BY SALVATIONISTS, which shall operate between the firing line and the bases. From the HON. ARTHUR STANLEY, M.P., Chairman of the Executive Committee of the British Red Cross Society, under whose protection all the ambulance work will be carried out, has been received a communication, in which he says :— " I beg on behalf of the Executive Committee of the British Red Cross Society to express to you, and through you to the members of the Salvation Army, our most grateful thanks for their generous gift of five ambulance cars. It is a touching and remarkable proof of the way in which your people seek to help the wounded, and I am quite sure that the inscription on the cars will call up the gratitude not merely of those who see the cars, but of those benefited by the gift."
