NO MORE CHEAP MEAT.
Sydney, This Day. The Abattoirs Board has issued a statement regarding the price of meat, sums up the high prices as due to the drought and the war export. It points o"'t- that drought conditions si.ill" prevail in the Riverina district and other large tracts in the west. It anticipates a return; to normal conditions in autumn if the weather is favourable. It adds that the community must realise that with a meat-hungry world, and Australia as one of the greatest sources of supply, cheap meat is a tiling of the past.
