On the motion for" the third reading of the Home ltule Bill, Lord llobert Cecil moved the adjournment of the House on the ground that nothing was known of the Government's proposal. The lUght Hon. H. H. Asquith replied that the Government deserved to secure general acquiescence in the bill establishing self government and an executive fur three parts of Ireland. The new proposal would deal with the limited area, and give these people at the poll the chance of saying. ......-.„ whether they were prepared to enter the new system. The Government was ready to sympathetically consider any suggestions, but in the first instance they must have the firm judgment of the House on . the main proposals. After the House of Lor Is had discussed it, it would be submitted to the House of Commons for th<\ last word.
