Regarding the fruit industry in New Zealand, the Evening Post gathers from authoritative sources that in five years' time from tu-day the output of the orchards in tlie dominion will be a million and a half cases, and this will be enormously increased each year thereafter. This will bring the estimated total acreage in fruit in New .Zealand to 41,046, an increase of 12.759 acres in six years. Of this total # increase Nelson district contributes over one third. Up to date, the export of fruit from New Zealand is in the neighbourhood of 85,00 ft cases, and it- is estimated that the 100,00 ft mark will be reached before the close of the season.
