'Professor D'Almaine and Company are to give an entertainment in the Town Hall, Levin, on Eriday evening next. Details are set out by advertisement to-day. The quality of this company's entertainments is to the liking of Levin audiences, so doubtless there will bo a big audience; the more so because the entertainment has been got up by way of help to the children of Mrs Hislop, who have been left in necessitous circumstances through the illness and death of their father.
At his meeting at Napier on Tuesday night Sir Joseph Ward announced that Mr McNab would be the Liberal candidate for Hawke's Bay seat.
"The cry is still they come." Mr Alf. Seifert, the Miranui flaxmiller, is reported to have been approached by several deputations asking him to contest the Otaki seat in the Government interests. It is understood {hat Mr Seifert will give his reply in a few days.
Mr John Hislop, Opt. D., of Wellington and Dunedin, will pay one of his periodical-visits to Levin this week. He will be at Mr Keodwell's pharmacy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, inclusive. No charge will be made for consultations.
