The Premier promised a deputation that the Government would introduce a bill to deal with the meat trust to prevent it becoming injurious to the public interest. THE "FIGHTING PAIISON. Two men attempted to force admission to a wedding party in St. Peter's Church Hall. Canon Hughes, known as the "fighting parson" interfered, and with two well-aimed blows" tumbled the intruders into the gutter. /The men were subsequently fined for offensive behaviour. A SCENE. An attempt to introduce a motion for adjournment- to discuss the tariff led to a scene in tlio Federal House. Anticipating an all-night sitting blankets were distributed to the Ministerial side. One was captured for a sleeping Oppositionist, and a wild scrimmage for its recapture, lasting a considerable time, followed. Two members came to blows but were dragged apart. Others were draggled - from their recumbent positions on the seats or knocked over in the struggle. Order was eventually restored, the DeputySpeaker shouting that he trusted that honourable members would remember that they were in Parliament.
