Potatoes.—JLhe market continues him, ana prices in tiie soutli indicate a strong position, nevertheless buyers arc not inclined to speculate at present values,, and business passing- is therefore* only lor immediate requirements. Unions are dull of sale, (fresh) still realise top prices. Jiiggs (preserved) the market remains steady rorkers. - Light good-conditioned pigs are in good demand at late rates and good baconers meet with ready sale. Suckers coming forward are mostly heavy weights, and for these the enquiry is not keen; nice light ones nowever are in good demand at full ratea. Cocksfoot.—The market is very iirni, with, however, nofc a< great deal of business passing. Fowl wheat and pollard.—There ie good business doing in both lines and the southern market for wheat is still hardening. Chaif.—There is no change to report, but holders are not inclined to sell under present prices, and with the prospect of bad weather ahead is is quite possible the market may harden. Walnuts.—Yv e can recommend consignments. Tnere is a good enquiry for pure white honey in bulk or otherwise. iNo change to report for dessert or cooking apples. Quinces are enquired for but the season is almost over. Dessert pears meet with ready sale at market prices. Tomatoes are in excellent demand at high ratees. Beans are bought at saticfactory prices, but lettuces are at bedrock prices.
