Better methods of marketing dairy produce will bo a boon to all people concerned in ilie dairy industry. Lately there has been apparent a desire for co-operation to secure this end, and before long some tangible results should be seen. "When the dairy companies of the North Island are earnest enough to meet in general conference, as thy have done at Hawera this week, to consider the advisabloness of joint action being taken "to secure bettor marketing methods in the markets of Ihe world," prospects of betterment must be enhanced. Incidentally we note that the conference decided that the policy of marketing in England should be confined to open consignment and selling. The conference further resolved that a representative committee be set up to formulaic a scheme that will "unite all the producers and establish a plan of control calculated 1o secure move satisfactory results than those briny obtained at present." Dairy companies are to assemble their delegates at Palmerston North on the 31st May to receive and deal with this report. Another matter discussed by the conference which assembled this week was Hint of pnymenis for milk. After a long debate, it was resolved that a. recommendation be made to all dairy companies that milk be paid for according to grade.
