MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Horowhenua Association management committee was held on the 22nd inst.

Present: Messrs D. Green, J. Prober, H. Karauti, J- MacMiljj&ijftlmd W. Broughton. the motion of Mr Broughton, Mr Procter wa9 elected chairman for a further term.

Mr Procter thanked the committee' for the honour conferred on hini../" He hoped the committee would work together in the future as viell as they had done in the

past. The meeting unanimously decided to instruct their delegate to support the Southland Rugby Union's motion at the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union. The proposal'V the southern union is That only those present at the meeting may vote— no proxies.

It was resolved to allow Shannon to play in the Koputaroa colours.

A communication was received from Shannon asking that the disqualification be removed from Cobbler. The committee decided that ihe request be not entertained.

The union decided to make application to the Defence Department for the use of the drill hall as a gymnasium for the clubs. It was decided to play three rounds for the championship, and Messrs Green and Broughton were appointed to draw up the fixtures. Permission was granted" to the Referees' Association to appoint tHe referees, with an instruction that where possible neutral referees be'appointed. All junior players are to be classified p.i the next meeting of the committee. A vote of thanks to the chairman was carried, and the meeting adjourned until further notice. SENIOR FIXTURES.
