Sarching through a railway timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good things, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, not a hotch potcl) o£ figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the aide track at Waggop.ville, or the cross line to Nevermarch. The particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palmeistou North are what readers of The Horowhenua Chronicle rteed most, and for our readers' coymnience those fir "t'-'e are now appended

Some of the above trains will stop at intermediate stations, such as Tokomaru, Oliau, Manakau, Te Horo, etc.; but tliero \re pome which do not. As previously luentuwed, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passen* gers desire to be set down or taken up Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for theix towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the ata« tion immediately preceding. The Auckland express reachei Palmerston from the North,* *t ;2.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.16 p.m. and reaches Palmereton at 3.35 p.in The extra Auckland •xpress commenced Ist October.
