The holidays have interfered with grain transactions but fine has enabled a good deal of threshing to be done, and the quantity offering has been greater than at any time since the season opened. Wheat has come back about Id a bushel all round, in sympathy with outside markets and prices have ranged as follows at the end of the week: Velvet :j s lid. red chaff 3s Oid and 3s l.Od, Carter's Cross 3s 9d, Marshall's white 3s solid straw Tuscan 3s 8d and 3s Bid, while red straw Tuscan has sold at 3s 9d net delivered at store. Oats continue to maintain their values, whore the samples are #ood. A grade Cartons have been sold at Is 9d and Is 10d, and B grade at Is Sd and Is Ski. all net at country stations. A" small parcel of malting barley has boon sold a! 3s, less commission. An improved inquiry has been experienced for potatoes, but owing to the wot state of the ground, digging- has not been on a large scale, and o lie rings from the country have been small. Only a small proport ion of the crop has vet been lifted, and values are not yet definitely fixed.
