Mr R. R. Gardener, mayor of Levin since its inception of the borough in 1906, has. been reelected for another twelve months. Nominations close'fl at 12 noon today, and Mr Gardener's was the only nomination received.
The "star" film to be shown at t.he King's Theatres Levin, this evening (Wednesday) is a drama entitled "Czernowska" by the Splendor Company. Another good picture on the programme is a dramatic, subject entitled "Oyer the Crib," while the remaining films are said to be well up to the nroprietary's usual standard.
Mr J. C. Martin, a former Pre-ide-nt of the Arbitration Court and •ludge of the Supreme Court, is M)okcn of as a likely candidate for Hie Bay of Islands, in the Opposi- ' iou interests.
