Otaki News.
The following news items have been clipped from the Otaki Mail: Bowlmg- is now practically finished as far as the Ocaki club is concerned, and unless more sum-mer-like weather is soon experienced the two trophy events will not be completed. These are now nearly concluded, and it would be to the. credit of the club to have them finished if possible.
It is rumoured that i> large-boarding-house is to be erected at Rangiuru, Otaki. This should {ill a long-felt want. The seaside is becoming a very popular resort, and an accommodation house there should prove a profitable investment, and induce a great many visitors to conie to the Otaki beach. The Otaki Natives have been asked to assist the Now Zealand Natives' Association, which is for the benefit of both Europeans and Natives. Funds are now being raised to build a club room, which when erected will be for the use of the Otaki and district Natives, as well as for.others from Wellington and other parts. Tt is proposed to bold a concert in July, and the Natives of Otaki have been asked to supply items. They have agreed to do so, and doubtless their efforts will be appreciated. Ft is hoped to hold a costume football match, to raise money.
