secretary stated that Mr J. Iv«bbell had written asking to be relieved from the office of patron. The following officers were elected—Patron, Mr B. R. Gardener; president, Mr J. Mclntyre; vicepresidents (each club to hand in the name of one vice-president). The following names were put in : Messrs McMillan (Shannon)' McKegg (Tainui), Sowman (HuiMai), •T Brought 011 (Weraroa). Secretary, Mr AY. Broughton. Mr Mcßain said that Mr Broughton was an excellent secretary and he was glad to have the opportunity of expressing Ins appreciation ol Mr Broughton's work. The report was an excellent one; the best he had heard for years. Other delegates endorsed Mr McBain's remarks. Mr Broughton thanked the delegates ior their kind remarks. Honorary treasurer, Mr J. W. Procter. Mr Procter asked to be relieved ; he was living too far out to properly attend to the work. He suggested that they elect Mr Eeeleton, of the Bank of New Zealand. Senior selector, W. Broughton; junior selector, R. Wehipeihana: auditors, -T. Mclntyre and B. R. Gardener; delegate to the N.Z. Rugby Union, W. Moynihan; vice president to the N.Z. Rugby Union, J. Rose. Insurance committee, W. Moynihan, C. Easther, -T. Procter. Mr Procter proposed a vote of £5 5s to the secretary for his work during the past year. Mr Rose seconded the proposal. Mr Broughton was always working in the interests of the Union.

Mr B rough! on thanked the meeting for its kindness. Tf a secretary was not prepared fo put all his ener/yy into the work _he should not accept the position. He had the welfare of the union ar heart and asked the Union to fake back the gift in the same spirit as it was given. All the money would be wanted for the tour of the representative team this season. The tour would do a lot to assist football. It was the unanimous wish of ihe meeting that the donation be accepted and Mr Brought on gave u ay. Mr Green announced that he would give a gold medal to the Union for the best all-round player, the same as last year. He would also give £10 10s towards the cost of the representative team if it went on tour.

Mr Broughton proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Green for his medal and handsome offer of £10 10s towards the cost of the tour of the representatives. -Carried unanimously. Mr Moynihan suggested that it would be a good thing if the incoming management committeo gave Shannon a representative match this year. They had a first-class ground at- Shannon and they deserved a match. It was recommended that the cup fixtures commence on May 2nd. Regarding school football, Mr Mcßain said if was difficulty.!o get it going on account (}i travelling. In connection with. Territorial J football clubs, brought up by Mr Rose, it was explained that the management committee would have to deal with the matter if it came up. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Mcßain for his past services. The meeting also wished him success in his new home. Mr Mcßain thanked the meeting for the kindness shown him during the many years lie had been connected with Horowhemia football. He had always been supported by the players and he would always take an interest in the game in these parts. He would not be leaving until the end of Tunc, and until then his services as referee were available if' required. Mr Moynihan said it would be a good thing if neutral referees were appointed to all matches where practicable. The meeting expressed the opinion that the Referees' Association would attend to the question. Mr Broughton took the. opportunity of apologising for not sending an invitation io Mr C. B. East her (an official of the Union) for the smoke concert. It was an oversight' on his part. The .secretary will call a meeting of the management committee next week. A vote of thanks io (he chair- I man brought the meeting to a ! close. The annual report will appear ; hi a later issue.
