Beef.—Demand for New Zealand is poor, River Plate meat of good quality being offered at low prices. Quotations: Ox beef, tores, 3£d; hinds, 4sd. Lamb.- -Demand for New Zealand is fair, and the market is steady. Quotations: Canterbury, heavy, s?d; light Gd; North Island, heavy, s §d: light, 5$V!. Mutton. -The demand for. Zealand runs principally on li.u-M: weights. The market is quie'r* and moderate business doing. Quotations: Canterbury, heavy, 4|d: light, 4fd : North Tsland, heacy, 4d : light, 4fd. There is an improved demand for frozen meat, but owing to lieaw supplies prices are tending downwards. Tallow.- Since our last cable prices arc unchanged, except good coloured mutton, which is par to fid per cwt. higher.
