Weliing'ton, April 2. Potatoes.—There is practically no change to report, and prime lines still lind a ready sale. Unions axe coming to hand in fair quantities, but the market is inclined to be weak. Eggs (fresh) are very scarce, and prices are tirni. Dressed pork continues in good demand. Wheat and oats. —Both lines continue hrrn at late rates, and the Southern quotations have a rising tendency. Prime Algerians ax*© distinctly firmer, and not many lines of this quality are obtainable. There is no change in the cocksfoot market which remains very firm at late rates. A considerable quantity oi chaii has arrived in fulfilment oi past orders, and business meantime is somewhat restricted. Fairly large shipments of dessert and cooking apples are arriving from j\lotueka, and the market has a slackening tendency. Quinces are in fair demand at satisfactory rates. Winter Colo and other choice dessert pears are {readily bought up. There is also a gooci enquiry for cooking varieties. There is no change to report wxth tomatoes. Lettuce and beans realise bedrock prices. All root vegetables meet with ready sale. Cabbages and cauliflowers meet keen competition at higher rates.
