WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington, April 2. Potatoes.—There is practically no change to report, and prime lines still find a ready sale. Onions are coming to hand in fair quantities, but the market is inclined to be weak. Eggs (fresh) are very scarce, and prices are firm. Dressed poi'k continues in good demand. Wheat and oats. —Both lines continue firm at late rates, and the Southern quotations have a rising tendency. Prime Algerians are distinctly firmer, and not many lines of this quality are obtainable. There is no change in the cocksfoot market which remains very firm at late rates. A considerable quantity of chaff has arrived in fulfilment of past orders, and business meantime is somewhat restricted. Fairly large shipments of dessert and cooking apples are arriving from Motueka, and the market has a slackening tendency. . Quinces are in fair demand at satisfactory rates. Winter Cole and other choice dessert pears are [readily bought up. There is also a good enquiry for cooking varieties. There is no change to report with tomatoes. Lettuce and beans realise bedrock prices. All root vegetables meet with ready sale. Cabbages .and cauliflowers m!eet keen competition at higher rates. Marrows. —Is 6d to 2s per case Turnips.—White 2s per sack. French Beans.—Choice Id per lb.
