"On Time."
(By Walt Mason.)
I his truth I'm spreading near and far by means of locked rhyme: ou'd better do without a ca/thau buy a car on time. Who are the folks who fume and fret, the while their bosoms bleeds They ;irc the ones who go in debi for things they do not need. I'lioir names would till a catalogue in this debtridden clime: you'd better do without a dog than buy a dog on tune. How happy is the man who knows he does not owe > a bone ! The grosser sorts of griefs and woes are leaving him alone; the '"charge it" course- he won't indorse-, nor owe a man'a dime: vou'd belter do without a horse than buy a horse on time. The man who always pays his Way is honoured everywhere, and merchants want his trade and pray that they may have a share; collectors do not dog his heels, nor lawyers haunt his door: he pays for what he buys with wheels composed of silver ore. And such a in an enjoys this life, and finds (he world sublime: you'd better do without a wife than yet a wife on time.
