Potatoes.—The market has been .steady for prime lines, but inferior quality, of which there is a lot offering, uve very hard to sell. Onions ar coming to hand from the South, but there is only a moderate demand. Eggs—Supplies are short, and prices are verj firm. Dressed pork is in good demand at late rates. Wheat and oats— There is no change to report, but southern markets are very firm. Western Wolths ryegrass and other seed lines are still selling freely. The cocksfoot market still shows an upward tendency, and holders are anticipating higher values. Slag and super, orders continue to come forward. Several large parcels of oat sheaf chaff and wheaten straw have been offering, but business ha steen somewhat restricted. Local grapes meet with keen competition, and are in short supply. Blackberries are-about finished. Peaches are selling at slightly lower rates since our last report. Quinces meet with fair demand, also choice cooking and dessert apples. Dessert pears are eagerly bought up ai ruling prices. Tomatoes are meeting with fair enquiry, .hut prices are in buyers' favour. Lettuces and French beans are realising bedrock rates. All root vegetables meet with fair sale. Cabbages are higher, but eauliffowers are easier. VEGETABLES. Potatoes. —Choice; Hutt £5; others i>4 to £4 10s per ton. Onions. —Local £(i per ton.
