The twenty-live varieties of oats tested at the Experimental Farm last season for grain have been sown with a view to testing their suitability for winter feed for stock. Enquiries 011 the point arrive by post regularly at the Farm from various parts of the country, and it has been decided to thoroughly test the different kinds of oats. Italian ryegrass, Western Wolths grass, prairie grass and perennial ryegrass will also be tested. A fence will be run across the plots m the saijie way as was done in the case of the silver beet, and the stock turned 011 to a section of the plots. This gives an indication as to which kind the stock prefer.
