A cricket match between the Training Farm team and a Levin team, played an Saturday at the Farm, resulted in an easy win for Ihe latter. The Farm team made II and 48. Levin made (14 and for two wickets. The New Plymouth express caught a motor cyclist on the Oliau ciossing on Saturday morning. Tho engine struck the rear wheel and threw the rider some distance. The train was pulled up, but bevond a severe shaking the rider was uninjured. - The motor bicycle was badly damaged. A thanksgiving service in connection with the ten-days' Anglican Mission will be held to-night at St. Mary's, Levin. The missioner will distribute) memorial cards of this mission (to any who care to have them) at to-night s service. The services yesterday were crowded both morning and evening, and several came forward and renewed their baptismal vows. There was a good muster at the men's service in the afternoon, and also at the children's service, which was taken by the \iear. Services in Levin l'resbyterian Church yesterday were especially attended, and at night extra seating accommodation had to r>e provided. The musical portion of tho service was much appreciated, the new organ being voted a rare treat. Mr lesse While played on it "Angels Kver Bright and Fair" and Handel's "Hallelujah" chorus. Mr A. Pringle sang the sacred solo "Palm Sunday," and the choir gave tho anthem "0 Lord How' Manifold.'" The llev. A. C. Randersoiu M.A., preached from the tost "I Will Sing a New Song Unto Thee O God."
The secretary of the Levin lloiticultural, Produce and Industrial Society wishes to remind those interested that the society s autumn (Chrysanthemum) Show will be held in the Century llall, Levin, on Wednesday, Gtli -May. This show is looked upon as the show of the year, as the mam feature is fruit and vegetables, and as this district is advancing every year with regard to fruit growing, the society hope that fruit-growers will come forward and show the public what it is capable of producing. Schedules may be obtained from either, Mr Goldsmith or tho secretary (Mr R. D. "Wallace).
