Y.M.O.A. v. FUXTUN
The fall oi the mighty is great and painful—to the onlookers. Al the expense of Levin Wednesday team, Levin Y.M.C.A. had climbed high, and had they won last Wednesday's match would have been in sight of the little green patch on the mountain top. But before the bowling of liurgess and AVilkes their stumps fell with a monotonous regularity, and Y.M.C.A. glissaded the bottom and splashed heavily into the waters of hopelessness. They will emerge next summer. Foxton climbed into the waiting motor cars and hurried oft' to celebrate their vietory before-the enthusiasm of then supporters c-ooled down. Foxton batted first and scored 00. Buruess was top scorer, with a carefully made 20, which included a splendid hit for six, the ball being driven into Bath street. Wilkcs (T,-M and Stiles (S) were the others in make runs. Howe took seven wickets for 22, and Clark three for 21. Y.M.C.A. missed three awkward chances, but on the whole fielded well. A. Pnngle again showed to advantage. Y.M.C.A went in and went out. Keys stayed to make 8, the highest score, and the ever reliable "Jimmy Extras" came along at the finis!) with 6.
