While proceeding , to a demonstration at Trafalgar Squaiv Miss Sylvia Pankhurst was arrested for the sixth time under the "Cat and Mouse" Act. The demonstration—including the East End bodyguard-- was exasperated and attempted to march to Downing Street, but the police frustrated them and niuo were arrested. The Home Secretary informed Mrs Pankhurst that the petition would be presented to the King, but he was unable to advise his Majesty to receive a deputation.
