There has been a distinct advance in the potato market during Ihe week and we strongly advise i\oilli Island growers to send in their consignments while this favourable condition prevails, as luwer vulues may be looked for when the main Soutff island crop is available. Onions are declining in value, now that the local suplies are coming to hand. Eggs are lower and inclined" to be dull of sale. Dressed pork is in poor demand but suckers are considerably lower than last week. We have inquiries for new season's honey and consignments are requested. Wheat is somewhat easier, but further decline is not anticipated. Very few transactions are taking place in feed oats and future values are uncertain. Large sales of chaff have been made during the week, and an ample supply is offering, the quality being exceptionally good. Fungus is selling at record prices.

FRUlT—Grapes and blackberries are meeting with ready sale. Poaches are arriving in large quantities from Motueka and realising good prices where quality is right. Many consignments, however, have arrived in an overripe condition. Plums are in lair demand. Apples are arriving freely and bringing fair prices.

VEGETABLES. —Green peas are in special demand at high rates. Tomatoes are now coming forward more freely and prices- are distinctly lower. All root vegetables are realising fair summ&r rates.
