According to last night's Gazette Mr C. A." \V. Monckton, of Otaki, has been appointed a Justice of the Peace. The concert in aid ol the funds of the Horowlienua iioating Club (organised by Mr Byron Brown, of Otaki), will be held in the Century Hull, Levin, on Wednesday next. The programme will have a Shakespearian savour, and there also will be given vocal and instrumental selections by wellknown contributors. The full programme is set out by posters exhibited in the various shop windows, and a summary of the principal numbers is advertised in today's Chronicle. In the shooting competition for tyros at the Trentlmm rifle meeting, Kifleman Ingram, of Foxton, scored 88.
