; * Kl-ECTIIIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT. [I'ER PPJGSS ASSOCIATION.] (Ueceived This Day 9.55 a.m.) THE MEAT STIUKE. Sydney, This Day. The employers, in reply to the Hon. J. Estell, ask that those who have broken the law be prose- j "7 cuted. The legal course is neces- , sary to instil into employees honesty as regards contractual relations. The policy to be adopted is one for the Government to settle, and the sooner it is decided that the law be enforced or altered, or the Arbitration Act repealed the better it will be for everybody concerned. Yesterday's meat supply was inadequate, although the output was the largest since the masters commenccd killing. Three additional depots are open to-day. The strike committee has decided that work be continued in the meat preserving industries as the Labour Federation is opposed to a general strike . ' To-day's meeting of the Employers' Committee will discuss the question of accepting the offers received of free labour, and calling for volunteers for unpaid labour so as to place the indus- ' try on the old footing. Unionists have informed the Government that the employers have entered into a conspiracy with intent to restrain trade.
