EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronicled by our Resident Representative). .Mr W. Cook, who has made many friends while conducting; his hairdressing and shaving , business in Shannon, is leaving for Palmerston North. Mi , W. Moynihan was again successful in prize taking with his pony "Duchess" at the Masterton .Show. She won both the maiden jump and the pony jump. Tiie Shannon and Tokomaru schools have their picnic to-day (.Friday), the former going to Pliinmerton and the latter to Paokakariki.
This week Fargher and Co., drapers, Shannon, will quit the balance of their summer stock. Stocktaking is in progress, and each line found to be"" overstocked will be offered at a big discount. The sale tables are loaded with these bargains. Discount tickets given with all cash purcliases.— --Advt.
