CRICKET.
—• PARAPARAUMU v. LEVIN WEDNESDAY. While Horowkenua players were doing their best to stave off defeat in one part of the reserve yesterday, the Levin players were being stamped into the long grass in another part by a team from - Paraparaumu, who displayed much enthusiasm in the process. The wicket was poor. Levin batted first, and made 18, Howe (8) being the only one to score anything worth noting. Fitton took eight wickets for seven runs. Paraparaumu did not do much better, and were all out for 27. Henderson (5) was highest scorer. Howe took 4 wickets for four runs, and Clark took six for 18- At their second attempt, Levin did a lot better, making 40. Of this Clark batted well for 15, Keys put together 11. Hudson took four wickets for five runs, and Fitton took- four for five. Paraparaumu required 38 to win, and when stumps were drawn had lost four wickets for 43. Lynch i batted well for 23.
