WEEKLY REPORT.

Wellington, Feb. 12. The market for potatoes is firim, and where quality is good fair prices are being realised. Small quantities of local onions are offering at satisfactory prices, while Australian are still selling fairly freely at good prices. Eggs are still selling at a good price, and for fresh laid Is 7d per dozen is being obtained without much difficulty, and supplies are not plentiful. Porkers continue to offer freely, and payable prices are maintained, with a satisfactory demand. The market for poultry is fair, only prime table birds meeting with a ready sale. Oats and wheat are steady, although wheat should be slightly weaker shortly. Old chaff is practically done, while new is offering fairly freely, the indications being for a large supply everywhere. Pollard is scarce" at present, and Australian is being sold somewhat freely. Bran remains unchanged. Hay is hard to quit, but straw is in fair demand. Grass seed and manures continue to be sold freely, and we are booking large orders. Apricots are now off this market, so also are raspberries. Prices for greengages are higher, and supplies are about finished. All other stone fruit meet with good demand where quality is prime. All root vegetables are meeting a fair demand at satisfactory figures. Choice lines of cauliflower and cabbage sell well to a good demand, while green peas are in excellent demand. Tomatoes show an improvement, as supplies are not plentiful. YEGETABLES. Potatoes.—Choice Hutt £b 10s; others, £4 per ton. Onions.—Australian, £11 10s; local, £9 per ton. Cabbage.—Choice 3s 6d; others 2s per sack. Cauliflower.—Choice 8s; others 3s to 5s per sack. Green peas.—Choice, Is 3d; others, Is per peck. Carrots.—Choice, 4s 6d; others 3s 6d per sack. Parsnips.—ss per sack. Swedes.—3s per cwt. Marrows.—ls 6d to 2s per case. Turnips.—White, 3s 6d sack. French beans.—Choice, 2d lb. Tomatoes.—Nelson 6s 6d to 10s half-case.
