For Railway Passengers Guidance.

— .—♦ — THE LOCAL TIME TABLE. Sarching through a railway timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good things, but the public prefer have the one particular food £*;; (whether mental or alimentary) -* desired on a given occasion, not a botch potch or figures concerning the bran-h line of Toko, track at Waggonville, or the ei-oss line to Nevermarch. The particular {inures likely to be of benefit tc dwellers between Paekakarito and Palmerston North are what readers of The Horowkenua Chronicle need most, and for oui I rt-Cideis' convenience those ti*-""! are now appended :—

Some of the above trains will stop at intermediate stations, such as Tokomaru, Oliau, Manakau, T-e Horo, etc.; but there -re pome which do not. Residents should acquaint themselves with the trains which do stop at their particular stations.

As previously iiientib»ied, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, hova. the abofb figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston from the North, at 12.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston af 3.35 p.m. The estra Auckland express commenced Ist October.
