TJiu Hon. Mr Holman, Premier of New South accompanied by Mrs Holman and a private secrotary, passed through Levin last night on the Main TrumTexpress, en route to liotorua. The party will return to Wellington next week, and in all .will" spend some three weeks in Xew Zealand. An Australian who holds a high public position, and who is visiting ltotorua, gave Mr ltobertson, M.P., a quaint reason for the attraction which liotorua had for his better half. She was of a greatly domesticated disposition, lie said, and the prospect of a free and unlimited supply of hot water positively i'aseinatpd her! Before Mr l'oynton, S.M., at Levin, judgment for plaintiffs was entered in several cases wherein defendants failed to appear. The list was as follows: -J. (J. Miles v. James Currie, £12 17s lid, costs £1 2s (id; E. C. Higgms v. Grace lioyal, £8 18s (id, costs 15s. in several other cases judgment, was confessed. One judgment summons came to a hearing, the plaintiff being Catherine Milne and the defendant W. .J. Harris. Defendant- failed to appear. He was ordered to pay the amount due forthwith or go to prison for fourteen days, but. the warrant will be suspended as long as defendant pays £2 per month.
