Johnson, Chief Railway Commissioner, speaking at a farewell gathering of the technical staff, said he was blamed for not forseeing the great expansion during the years. In the Quarter Challenge Athletic meeting, Parker (America) won the fifty, hundred, and sev-enty-five yards' events defeating Burton (Victoria), Bradley (New South Wales), Eraser (New South Wales) beat Templeton (America in the 120 yards' hurdles. Kelly beat Templeton in the high jump and Caughey (America) won the javelin and discus throwing. •
