NEW ZEALAND FARMERS' CO-OPERATI VE DISTRI- - CO., .LTD. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington, January 29. The market for potatoes shows an improvement, especially where quality is good. Indications point to n rise in values obtaining between now and the time when the main southern crop is available. Both Australian and local onions are on the market and realising good prices. We strong■ly recommend consignments of well-harvested shipments. Eggs have taken a sharp rise during the past few daysj, and at present supplies are short with good demand. The demand for dead porkers is somewhat weaker, probably due to the excessive hot weather prevailing. Poultry is in fair demand where quality is good. There is very little change to report in connection with oats and wheat, transactions being restricted to immediate requirements, owing to the approach of the new crop. Chaff is in fair demand, but lower values are expected. Pollard is now arriving from Australia, and is of better quality than the local article. Bran is exceptionally low just now, and good sales are being made. Pea and barley meal are offering at fair rates. Straw «nd hay are selling in small compass only, awaiting new season's supply and reduced prices. Numerous enquiries are coming in for all grass seeds. Forward sales of basic slag are now being freely made for the coming season. FRUIT.—Stone fruits are arriving in large quantities, and values are low. The few raspberries that are now arriving are selling up as high as 10s a bucket. Cooking apples are in fair demand.

VEGETABLES. - Cabbage, Cauliflowers, swedes and marrows are selling at fair summer rates. Peas and French beans are realising high prices. Tomatoes are still maintaining especially high rates for tins season of the year, but the supply will now increase rapidly.
