Second Edition Levin Stock Sales.
I)ALGETY AND COMPANY,' LIMITED. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale in their Levin •yards on Friday, 30tli inst., when a good yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward. There was a fair demand for sheep. Lambs were rather slow of sale, but all lots ottered changed hands at prices slightly under late rates. Ewes and wethers Avere in good demand, and satisfactory prices were obtained for,all lines yarded. The quality of the cattle that came forward was poor, and a dragging sale resulted. The principal sales effected were as under: —
Sheep.v -Good 2-tooth wethers, 10s >Jd to l()s 9d: forward 4-iooth wethers, 18s 9d; 2-tooth *-wes los (id; small two-tooth wethers, 14s to 14s Gd; f.f.m. ewes 12s Gd; medium woolly lambs, 7s to 7s sd; cull lambs, 6s to Gs : 3d; fat ewes, 16s 6d to 16s Bd. Cattle. —Springing cows, £7 10s; 24-year steers, £5 12s 6d; 3year steers, £7; empty cows, £;'> 17s Gd to £4 2s Gd; 18-month heimers, £•'> 4s; yearling steers (small) £2 10s; weaner heifers, 22s to 28s; weaner steers, 2os; bulls, £4 to £5 7s.
