EVENTS IX SHANNON. (Chronicled by our liesident Representative). Shannon is still advancing, and improving in the matter of buildings. Mr W. H. Gunning is putting up a six-rooined dwelling house on his section ad.joiuing the Church oi England, and new and more commodious remises are being erected for MiThompson, the painter, on Plirnmer Terrace. All the flaxmills will be closed on Saturday, it being the occasion of the meeting of the representatives of the Elaxmillors' Union at I'almerston North. Mr Aim, manager of the Shannon Dairy Factory, who has been ailing for a long time, was removed to a private hospital in Palmerston North on Thursday.
