Tlie value of potatoes continues to be low.; crops in tlie North Island arc good, and local farmers arc digging to prevent tlie risk of blight.- Good lines of ripened onions arc wanted. Eggs are slightly lower, but in good sale Light porkers arc in best enquiry. Poultry is in fair demand where quality is good. ]New chaff is soiling freely, and a drop in values may occurr any time. Oats arc slightly weaker. Wheat lias declined owing to shipments arriving from Australia. There has been a sharp rise in the price of pollard. Pea and barley meal are offering at fair rates. Straw will doubtless come back in price, (rood clover hay is in fair demand. Tomatoes are keeping up in values the season being somewhat late. A decline may be looked for shortly. Stone fruits are coming to hand in such quantities that choice lines arc only especially sought after. Hasp berries are in good demand. iSTew apples are arriving. Phubarb is very dull of sale. Cabbages are higher to-day. Good cauliflower are scarce. All root vegetables are in good sale, especially lettuce. Peas and beans arc now in much better demand.
