I «- THE ELLWOODS AT LEVIN Tko Ellwood Trio of musician will appear in Levin ou Sho\ Night (Wednesday next). Tlies capable musicians are pupils o the great Gerardy, and they hav been acclaimed throughout NeA Zealand as the possessors of rar musical skill. They are assistet by the Scotch baritone, Air Ar thur MaeDonald. in a recen critique, the Dominion remarked "A brilliant performance. Th< Ellwood Trio must, in our esti mation, take then , stand in th< front rank of instrumentalists Harry Ellwood fairly charmed th< audience with his mastery of tech nique and brilliant execution Miss Polly Ellwood is an invalu able member of the Trio; her ac companiments were a feature oj the concert." THE NORWOODS. On Wednesday evening the Norwoods will appear at tlie lung"* Theatre, in an appropriate holiday entertainment, when they will present their deligntful hypnotic and telepathic performance. Hypnotism as a means of merriment has been successfully employed by Professor Norwood for a number of years, and in his hands is stripped of pretence at being a fearsome power; it is presented as a harmless and amusing entertainment, and the manner in which he has accentuated its ludicrous aspect has made it a popular occasion of laugnter. The more serious side of mental suggestion—the most interesting—is not neglected in Professor Norwood's performances, but the mainspring of his success is the exploiting of the frankly ridiculous. ( Even the most hardened sceptic 'is forced to join in the laughter which greets the demonstrations, and admit that he has had his nioney's worth of merriment. Seats may be reserved at Mr Ken. Aitken's. The Norwoods will also appear at Shannon -on Thursday and Friday next at the Gillandia Hall. KING'S THEATRE. There is an excellent programme of pictures to be shown in the King's Theatre this evening (Monday). The star is a ''5000 fe'et Indian drama entitled "The , Indian Raiders." It is sensational from start to finish. The supporting subjects are ''Warwick Chronicle (topical), "Cutting Ice" (educational) "Lady Audely's Jewels" (drama), "The Weapon" (drama), "The Worm Turns" (comedy),' "Jones Goes Shopping" (comedy). There will be no pictures shown on Wednesday evening on account 'of the Norwoods having the theatre engaged. The pictures will be showii on Thursday evening in- ! stead of Wednesday this week.
