Vegetables.—French beans and green peas are in good ( d<Jinand, • whilst cabbages are ruling low. A I fair demand exists for cauliflower, carrots, parsnips, and turnips. Potatoes continue in heavy supply, and the quotation is Us to 4s (-id per cwt. according to sample. Onions.—l2s to 14s per cwt. Pickling- onions are wanted. Flour.—Leading- brands are selling at £9 10s per ton, f.o.b. south and £10 15s ex store, Wellington, less discount. Fowls' wheat.—A decline in the market price would occasion no surprise; the current quotation is 4s lOd to 5s per bushel for grime whole. Maize.—4s Cd to 4s lOd per bushel. Bran:-—£4 15s to £5 per ton. Pollard.—All millers are short of stocks, consequently the market has advanced to £G 15s to £7 per ton, ex store. Chaff.—Supplies of old cliali are scarce. New .season s chaif is coming in more freely, and the market rules at £5 to <£5 15s per ton, sacks in. Fresh eggs.—Supplies are quite equal to the demand and Is Id per dozen is the present price. Butter. -Prime milled in bulk is quoted at 9£d to lOd per lb. Poultry.—Chickens Is to Is fcitl per pair; hens 2s Gd to 3s l)d, with heavy birds making 4s; Indian llunner ducks 4s Gd to 5s Gd; Pekin ducks Gs to 8s; turkey gobblers Is per lb live weight; liens 9d to lid. WOOL. Dalgety and Co., Liu., Wellington, have received a cable from their London office, dated 9th instant, reading as follows —"The imports of wool for the year ending 31st December, 1913, into the London market, have amounted to 1,034,000 bales, of which the following firms were the chief importers : Dalgety and Co., Ltd., GO,OOO bales; Sanderson, Murray and Co., 50,000 bales: Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., 4Y.000 bales; Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., 44,000 bales; .Tames Morison and Co., Ltd., 35,000 bales; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., 33,000 balegj New Zealand and Australian Land Co., Ltd., 32,000 bales; Australian Mortgage Land and Finance Co., Ltd., 29,000 bales. ————ip——
