{ — —♦ ). ' THE LOCAL TIME TABLE., , Sarching through a timetable makes most people able. The railway table,'like i,he polony, contains many good things, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, not a botch potch o£ figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the aide track at Waggonville, or the cross line to Nevermarch. The particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palmerston North are what readers of The Horowhenua Chronicle need most, and for our readers' convenience those fibres are now appended:—

Some of tne above trains will stop at intermediate stations, such as Tokomaru, Ohau, Manakau, Te Horo, etc.; but there .re pome which do not. Residents should acquaint themselves with the trains which do stop at their particular station.

As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains- will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Looal residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, $rom the abo«r figures, the time which the traic will take to travel from the station preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston from the North, at 12.40 p.mi, and, arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m. The extra Auckland commenced Ist October.
