On--3 ions are extremely scarce. Auckland supplies may be expected in a the i\ T ew Year. Eggs are in 1 brisk demand and a iurther advance is expected during the holidays. Pork is in hne demand ut recent rates. L'oultry is in ! gcod demand. Turkeys are I scarce and enquired for. Chail is .iirmer and not over-plentiful. Good business has beein passing in oats. VVheai lias taken a decided rise, and reports of short area under cultivation will doubtless iorce up prices to a higher level yet. Pollard has advanced and a similar rise is expected in bran. Good maize is now available at reasonable rates. Strawberries are reaching us in large consignments. On one day we received #70 crates. The inip'rovenient in the weather to-day has had a marked influence . in values, and we expect higher prices 'from now on. bruits are in good demand, but apricots hold the week's record at i4s per half case. Tomatoes are also fetching fancy figures ana consignments are strongly recommended, Both cabbage and cauliHower are low. AV root vegetables in good demand, also choice lettuce.
