The last stand made by the Federals in the neighbourhood of Cjinaga in Northern Mexico resulted in the wiping out of hundreds of the Federals and the practical destruction of their entire forces. When the men fled across the American border the officers shot a number of them dead when they refused to obey orders. Later 011 the Federals received small reinforcements, but the rebels attacked these, and the final stage of the battle is now ' proceeding in the trenches around Cjinaga.
