For Railway Passengers Guidance.
THE LOCAL TIME TABLE. Sarching through a railway, timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good things, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, not a botch potch Ox figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the side track at Waggonville, or the cross line to Never march. The particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palmerston North arc what readers • of The Horowhenua Chronicle need nijost, and for our readers' convenience those 'fijpivs are now appended:—
Some of tlie above trains will slop at intermediate stations, such :is Tokomaru, Olinu, Manakuu, To Horo, etc.; but there .re pome which do not. Residents should : acquaint themselves with the trains which do stop at their particular stations.
As previously mentioned, therp ;ire several wayside stations »t which one or jnore of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents ljiay ascertain w}iich are the trains which 'later for their towns, and maj then work out, horn the aborb figures, the time which the trak will take to travel • from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston from the North, ai 12.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.in. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m. The extra Auckland commenced Ist October.
