In its journey from Mt. Eginont to the south, yesterday evening's cyclone paid particular attention to the poultry farm of Mr Burnett, proprietor of the Arcadia Hotel, and the buildings s tillered severely. About a hundred feet of the fowlhouses was stripped, and the roof whirled round and round and deposited twenty or thirty yards away. During tiic gale and the subsequent exposure to the cold rain, the poultry stillered some damage. The roof of the cowshed also went, and Mr Barnelt, who was milking at the-time, had a narrow escape from flic falling and flyimv timber. After a lengthy absence from Levin, Mr Charles Archer, a popular actor (well-known to Levin as resident coach to the old Levin Dramatic Society) will return to Levin on Boxing Night with a company of his dramatic students ■ from Wellington. Mr Archer's company will produce, on December 20th (Friday) the sparkling and ever-green Irish comedy drama, "Handy 'Andy," and a bumper house is anticipated.
