For Railway Passengers Guidance.

THE LOCAL TIME TABLE. Sarching through a railway timetable makes most people irritable. The railway table, like the polony, contains many good tilings, but the public prefer to have the one particular food (whether mental or alimentary) desired on a given occasion, not a botch potch figures concerning the branch line of Toko, the side track at Waggonville, or the cross line to Neverinarch. The .particular figures likely to be of benefit to dwellers between Paekakariki and Palinerston North are what readers of The Horowhenua C ll vonicle need most, and for oui rc :ders' convenience those fi'fiva are now appended :—

Some of the above trains will slop at intermediate stations, such ;is Tokomatu, Oliau, Manakau, Ti? Horo, etc.; but there .re some u liich do not. Residents should acquaint themselves with the i rains which do stop at their parli 'iilar stations.

As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the abo7ij figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston from the North, at .12.40 p.m., and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m. The extra Auckland express commenced Ist October.
