[Our correspondents' opinions arc their own : the responsibility of editorial ones makes.sufficient ballast for the editor's shoulders.] "■KKFOIi-MKD STRIKES." (To the Editor). .Sir, Please publish iuy appeal: —bellow workers, just pause and think for one moment. Put back the clock &> year!;: How many of you who bought wisdom at that memorable strike were in harness ai the eonimencmeiit of the present liastilities'r 1 Compare the condition of the worker of that period with those of the present time. During , the reign of the Liberal Government we were catered for in a manner that upheld the traditions of any democratic community. tumorous Acts were passed that made the lot of the worker in this dominion a happy one. But you can always have too much ol: a good thing. The agitator and the soap-box orator have grown weary ol: a life of inactivity. At last election we assisted the reformer into power much to the joy of (he agitator and the monopolist. We threw out a challenge a! Waihi and was knocked out in six rounds. The present walersiders contest \v.\< an audience of workers in this dominion (numerically about Ihe size of a decent town in England) who have, paid for admission and are not getting a "go" for their money; war means an outlay of cash, and those that hold the necessary will win. Boys, don't be deluded; you are not "young" and "simple": Ihe bombastic utterances of these soap-box men will not stop our kiddies crying , for bread. 31akc the next fight the ballot box, next election: make no mistake, with combination we must win. Plump for the Liberal candidate: leave the reformer and other candidales severely alone. They are only a delusion and a snare. The Otaki Reformer posed as our friend last election, but this bogus friendship ended in a fight which must cud disastrously to ourselves.— Yours, etc., .JUSTO3S T E. Levin, Dec. 7, 1910.
